Pastor Frankey Grayton

Rev. Frankey Grayton, Pastor

Pastor Frankey Grayton is the youngest son of the late Curtis Grayton, and a strong prayer warrior, the late Viola “Ola” Johnson.

Pastor  Grayton is a native of the District of Columbia and product of the District of Columbia public school system where he
graduated from Banneker Senior High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Maple Springs Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Capitol Heights, MD and a Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. Pastor Grayton is an entrepreneur and is a Master Plumber/Gasfitter. He had been self-employed and the owner of Grayton Plumbing for 21 years.

Pastor Grayton dedicated his life to Christ in January 1991 and became a member of Enon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Tommie L. Shaw. At that time, he and his wife Talita were baptized together. In 1995, Pastor Grayton preached his initial sermon, “The ransom has already been paid; why are you still bound?” Pastor Grayton was licensed and ordained as a minister under the tutelage of Reverend Shaw.

As the fourth Pastor to serve the Edgewood Baptist Church since 2008, he served that congregation until February 2020. In December 2019, with much prayer, Pastor Grayton accepted the call to become the fifth pastor of Southern Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD.

Pastor Grayton has been married since July 1992 to the beautiful Minister Talita Grayton. Their marriage union has been the substratum that undergirds the ministry of Pastor Grayton. They have three children; Tionna (Derrick), Courtney, and Frankey II. They also have two grandsons, Dawayne and Dyson.

Pastor Grayton aims to aid God’s people in reaching their full potential in Christ as it is written in II Timothy 2:2. In order to minister to God’s people most effectively, Pastor Grayton utilizes a combination of exegesis and exposition, with contemporary applications. His desire is to continue to build God’s Kingdom by discipling God’s people.

Pastor Grayton entered into position as Pastor of Southern Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on May 1, 2020 and succeeds Dr. Welton Fields, Jr. who retired from SFMBC on April 30, 2020.
